TF Powers celebrates 125 years in business

TF Powers Construction is celebrating its 125th anniversary this month with a community celebration event at the Hjemkomst Heritage Center in Moorhead, MN.

In 1893 after the Fargo fire occurred, a young bricklayer, Thomas F. Powers, moved to Fargo to help rebuild the city. TF Powers Construction continues to build upon its rich history of erecting or upgrading more than 1,100 structures across the region, including many of Fargo-Moorhead’s landmark buildings.

Here’s just a sampling of the many buildings built by TF Powers over the years: Cass County Courthouse, Black Building, Fargo Theatre, Hjemkomst Center, Manchester Building, Powers Hotel, Moorhead City Hall, Fargo Post Office, First Presbyterian Church, Concordia College Fieldhouse.

In recent years, TF Powers has continued to build or remodel legacy buildings in the area, including NDSU’s Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory, Grand Forks Discovery Elementary, MSUM Livingston Lord Library, Rosewood on Broadway, Veterans Memorial Pool, and more.

TF Powers is looking forward to the next 125 years in business as the company continues to expand its footprint in the region.
